SV Werder Bremen will be without attacker Niclas Füllkrug for several weeks. The 27-year-old tore the lateral ligament and capsule in his right ankle during the final training session of the week on Friday. Füllkrug underwent a detailed MRI examination on Sunday morning.

Bad news for Werder Bremen going into the weekend as Niclas Füllkrug has dropped out of the home game against FC Augsburg at short notice. The attacker picked up an ankle injury in the last training session ahead of the weekend’s Bundesliga game.
SV Werder Bremen have again retained a young talent, with Nick Woltemade signing a contract extension at Werder with effect from 1st July 2021. As agreed with SVW’s sporting director Frank Baumann, the 18-year-old will continue to develop his young career at Osterdeich with the Green-Whites.
