SV Werder Bremen have reached another important decision regarding club personnel, specifically the extension of centre-back Niklas Stark’s contract with the Green-Whites, which was set to expire on 30th June 2026. The announcement was provided on Thursday by Peter Niemeyer, director of professional football at SVW.

SV Werder Bremen will open the 2025/26 competitive season away against Arminia Bielefeld in the first round of the DFB-Pokal. The draw was conducted on Sunday (15th June) at the German Football Museum in Dortmund, and pits the Green-Whites against last season's finalists.

The spoils are shared in Berlin despite Werder’s fast start

SV Werder passed up the chance for a fourth straight Bundesliga away win, instead having to settle for a draw with 1. FC Union Berlin in front of 22,012 fans at the Stadion an der Alten Försterei on matchday 32.
